This corporate coaching blog, comes as Chancellor Osborne comes under attack from Tory MP's for his spending cuts.

Corporate Coaching - George Osborne: Lets Make Cuts...Now!

George Osborne & Corporate CoachingThe Centre For Social Justice has criticised George Osborne's spending cuts, saying that his decisions on where to make cuts lack strategic thinking. 'No one in Whitehall is really thinking through what these cuts mean. They are not looking at which programmes are working and which are not, and axeing the unsuccessful'.

Coupled with Michael Gove's 'over-enthusiastic' leadership of the Academies programme, and David Cameron's recent undiplomatic comments about Pakistan, its evidence of a very inexperienced government.

A government wanting to be seen to get things done. Making decisions. Taking action. Being busy. Which is understandable, when you have waited so long to return to power as The Conservatives have.

Thats why a monthly Perspective Session is critical for this new administration. No so much assessing what they have done. But how they have done it. The mindsets that lead to decisions. And the psychologies that determine these mindsets.

Asking questions of themselves, such as 'Are our decisions being made in alignment with our core values?'. Comparing their values and beliefs with their actions. Thus if decisions are found to be out of alignment, the same mistakes can be avoided. Thus creating a culture of integrity and honesty.

Without this kind of self-reflective process, an enthusiastic but error prone government can start shooting itself in the foot. And undermining its principles. Quickly it can find itself out of synch with its core support, as Gordon Brown found to his cost.

The Perspective Session is a valuable tool for any business. Ideally facilitated by a Corporate Coach, decisions that are in alignment with core values can be then magnified via the company newsletter and other in-house communications. So that all the organisation catch the way of the company culture.

Its early days for the new administration. And wisdom clearly comes with experience. But they can accelerate their emotional maturity with some simple self-reflection.

Why Not Try A Corporate Coaching Session...
