Executive Coaching Services- Michael Gove: Lets Make The Law...Now!
Michael Gove's first act upon coming into power as Conservative Education Minister, was to rush through emergency legislation, to enable schools to become academies.
To justify the legislation, Gove announced a few weeks ago, that over 1,000 UK schools had applied to become academies.
This turns out to be untrue. In reality only 153 schools applied. This makes Gove look as if he was acting without a core foundation. Acting in haste. Which may be the case.
His urge to create emergency legislation, may stem from a desire to be seen making the law. A minister right on top of his brief. Getting the attention of his Prime Minister, The Cabinet, the party and the country.
In other words its attention seeking. Born out perhaps, of the need to be popular. Or accepted. Or any other personal psychology that causes Michael Gove to act seemingly, so hastily.
Michael Gove may benefit from speaking to an Executive Coach. Someone who can help him take a deep breath. And slow down.
Help him manage his unmet needs a little better. At this rate Micahel Gove's time in Government will be brief. He appears to be in too much of a hurry to make an impact. He may seem enthusiastic. But, rest assured, his haste will be his downfall.
