Barack Obama is greeting the faithful in Dublin, when he comes across Jessica Walls in the crowd. Jessica is on her mobile, speaking to her mother. She then hands the phone over to the affable American President, so that he too can chat to Jessica's mother.
Jessica and her mother are besides themselves. It is a moment they will remember forever.
It is of course, the way good leaders behave. They connect with people. People at all levels. Simple gestures that make a huge difference. They bring others into their world for a moment. Why? Because they are genuinely interested in other people!
It doesn't take much, to stop to talk to the people who keep your business ticking over. Those who you may take for granted. Connecting you with them. And them with you.
